What Writing About Fashion Every Week Taught Me
When I started this blog, I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I just knew I liked fashion, loved putting outfits together, and had a passion for it since my sister's major was fashion design. But writing about it every week? That ended up teaching me more than I thought about clothes, yes, but also about myself. At first, I focused on what was trending: Y2K mall culture, e-kid aesthetics, 60s hippie fashion, and sharing fashion brands and people that deserve the spotlight. But as the weeks went on, I started noticing how personal fashion really is. Every post became a mini check-in with my own style, what I’m drawn to, what makes me feel confident, and how I want to show up in the world. I learned that fashion is less about dressing for people and more about dressing like yourself. That feeling of being overdressed is actually kind of a power move.
